FreeCad is not a easy one to learn imo.
I'm rather good at using Inventor if I may say so. I most of the time I design/prototype telescopes and parts for it in Inventor.
Starting using FreeCad I can't make head or tails out of it, sorry to say so. There's no logic in the UI.
Think I need to open a few tutorials...

I raised this as an issue on the github repro https://github.com/jmplonka/InventorLoader/issues/29
and today saw the response, the file was created with Autodesk Inventor 2008, only files created with 2010-2019 are supported.
Think the developer @jmplonka should add a check for version and put out a warning message before exiting from the import cleanly

I cannot import it with inventor loader.
inventor viewer was able to load.
an attempt to convert it online failed.

Here is a suggestion to import an ipt file directly and modify it with a sketch

I'm just coming to FC, also from Inventor, and agree with Chriske.
Since I know what I am looking for, at least that helps, but where to find it in FC is not so straightforward.

I am trying to install Inventor Loader and i get an error.
" Some errors were found that prevent to install this workbench: Some errors were found that prevent to install this workbench. Please install the missing components first. "

can someone tell me what is the prerequisite IL is looking for?
