Can I Extrude a 2d shaped, but in a curved fashion?
Ok, So apologies if this is answered elsewhere... I'm quite new to all this and I think I maybe just don't know the proper language to ask the question I want to ask. I'm using 0.18 and I'm not quite sure how to upload my file to the forums... but in effect I want to be able to do this in FreeCAD:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWT1XiUX_u4
However instead of starting from a simple cylinder, it's more of a peanut shape... I'm effectively trying to create something akin to this, but perhaps with a shallower curve if that makes sense:

Any thoughts on how I might achieve this effect?
[EDIT]
I've learned how to do a few things since posting this question so here's all the updated knowledge I've discovered how to add since initially posting this:
OS: Windows 10
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.18.4 (GitTag)
Build type: Release
Branch: releases/FreeCAD-0-18

Python version: 3.6.6
Qt version: 5.6.2

OCC version: 7.3.0

The forum rules link above the Help forum tells you how, see point 6 in the first post.cool_name123 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 12:04 am quite sure how to upload my file to the forums... but i
Link to your picture does not work.cool_name123 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 22, 2021 12:04 am https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/3H4AAOSw ... -l1600.jpg
A peanut shape would be symmetric around it's longitudinal axis, so just sketch half a cross section in a Sketch and then rotate the sketch around its longitudinal axis.

Hmm, That is odd... Ok I think I figured out how to upload so hopefully this will at least give you an idea of what I mean by a peanut shape... I'm also gonna try to upload the image itself to see if that works now that I've figured out how to attach.
Any Better?

Also, While the multi-layered effect might be cool... for starters I think I just want to learn how to make my curve to not be as multi-layered as the example photo... if I can just make it all be one height, I think that would be a good starting point.

If you are looking for something like this:
Draw just the top half of your sketch and use the revolve tool. Then set the angle to 180 degrees. That will give you a flat-faced "demi-peanut".

I'm not sure if I understand this tool... You hit the nail on the head, that's exactly what I want to accomplish, but every time I plug your directions into that function I wind up with something like this:

That looks familiar, I forgot about that, I was going to report it. I found that if I lofted thru multiple sketches the last one would do a flip. I never did find the conditions to make it occur. Let's keep that file.=cool_name123

Checkout my construction and see what you are doing differently. Here's my sketch - which has fewer knots than yours.
