Start a sketch makes view upside down

I thought it was a bit unusual that if I make a sketch of the rear of an object, the sketcher makes the view upside down. Is there anyway to disable this? I went through the display preferences and could not find something.

Maybe it is useful and I just don't understand how it is superior than always having up as up.

Guessing you have your sketch attached to something - the Map Reverse parameter in the Data panel will do what you want.

I think you meant to say rotate by 180 about the x- or y-axis. The local z-axis of a sketch is normal to it, so rotating around z just spins the sketch around.

Exactly. Around which axis to rotate depends on what exactly upside down means.

Rotating each time you open sketch is not just annoying, but also place all shown dimension upside down (or downside up).

Is such reversion done by design?
