Hi All,
I am new to FreeCAD (and CAD in general, to be honest), and I am trying to set up a 3D elevation scene within FreeCAD to go on and do some modelling with.
Currently, the elevation data is a georectified raster image, however, I can change it into a .xyz point file if needed. I just wondered if any of you on here had any suggestions for getting a digital elevation model out of GIS software and into FreeCAD.
I have found one youtube video which does this with some isolines, but I have a much too high-resolution image to do this with.
I appreciate any suggestions in advance.

Have a look at TRAILS addon, search the forum...
Re: Importing Elevation Data (e.g. .xyz)
Hello, there is a workbench you can install called Geomatics(or Trails Transportation Engineering), and it should be able to do this. I have not used it a lot so I hope someone more knowledgable will give you more information.
