angling an edge

Post by cue340 »

Hi everyone, I have managed to pad a very basic sketch which gives me vertical walls, I have spent quite some time looking for instructions to make a few of these walls angled, to no avail. I just don't know what I should be even trying at this point.

Do i need two different 2D sketches to work between?
If so, how do you add a second sketch?
can I create a copy of the single sketch I have?
can I add material to the 3d model?
can I subtract material from the 3d model?
can the 3D model actually be edited in any way at all?
can I see my 2d lines on the 3d model using them to edit?

below is the data for my pc/install:
OS: Windows 10 Version 2004
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.19.24276 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: releases/FreeCAD-0-19
Hash: a88db11e0a908f6e38f92bfc5187b13ebe470438
Python version: 3.8.6+
Qt version: 5.15.1
Coin version: 4.0.1
OCC version: 7.5.0
Locale: English/Australia (en_AU)

thanks
Quinton

You should work through the PartDesign Tutorials, which should answer quite some your questions. And I really mean working through them until you can do them fluently; watching is not enough.

You cannot angle some parts of the pad, you need several sketches. Not knowing what you finally want to achieve, you may have a look at the Loft feature.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.
