So, I was able to grab a very convenient STEP part from one of the manufactures websites. I imported that but am having a hard time figuring out to make that work in a Assembly 4 based tree? I tried to make a new part and then make the imported part a child of the new part but that did not work. Is this possible?

Re: Assembly 4 with Imported STEP file?
That's generally what I do, yes. Make a part (yellow bricks), then drag the part that was generated from the step import into the yellow part. Then inside the yellow part, make an LCS for a connection point. Depending on what it is, you can also make a sketch inside the yellow part and then attach LCS connection points to that, also (like a master sketch).
This yellow part container can be in its own file, or you can put it in the parts folder of the assembly, and then attach it from there. Since assembly 4 uses the LCS as connectors, I don't think you can just use a STEP part by itself. I could be wrong but that's how I understand it.
