two common ways are either tools menu "save picture" which saves a jpeg file of the current view in the model window or use a screen capture application which can take a picture of anything displayed on you screen.

Note that the first one only works if your GPU and its driver support it. Most should, but some pathetic old GPUs do not and some drivers may not implement the feature even when the hardware would.

Tools -> Save Picture also allows you to save the image in a number of other formats too (one of which is .bmp).

strangely enough, I can't export any of the options
  • [ * ] PDF: from File > Export PDF ...
[ * ] SVG: from File > Export > Save as types: Flattened SVG (*.svg)
    [ * ] image: from Tools > Save picture ...
The image is completely black, PDF is empty and SVG is a weird decomposition of what I have. Please find the file in the attachment.

Can you create a TechDraw page and export that as a PDF with File->Export PDF?

The other tools are probably all have the same basis, which can fail due to graphics card or driver issues.

The File->Export PDF of TechDraw page seems to be fine.

So it is most probably a driver issue. You can try upgrading (or downgrading).

any other solution not requiring messing up with the drivers? Windows drivers are really annoying to manage.
