I went ahead and removed a face using defeaturing.
Then I selected the edges around it and using defeaturing I clicked "add Faces from in list edges".
This gave a me a new solid of that desired face.
I am not able however to merge those two solids into one and have a single body.
If I do that indirectly it complains that there are multiple shells and doesn't allow me to create a body so that I can then map sketches.
What would be the way to do that?
If there is another way to directly fill those edges and add the missing face to the solid, that would also work.

Re: Filling Missing Face
Ok, I found it, defeaturing has an option that combines object faces into a single solid.
