Thanks for all the help, everyone. I am going to start fresh and try to get the imported object centered and see if that helps my mission.

Would it be possible to link to the stl in question?

As is so typical of stl files...it is not manifold.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like you're still ending up with a multi-body part somehow. Include your feature tree with the screen shot next time, that would help. I repeated the same steps already described here, and it worked (although it was a bit slow).

So, have you used Part>Check geometry with the BOP option checked?

Select the Body and give it a try...
