Map mode not anchoring any sketch.

How is it that I am able to move a sketch and pad it without deactivating map mode? I thought that map mode was supposed to anchor it to it's original position!? Otherwise what purpose does it serve?

That is a very powerfull mechanism: the sketch is moved relative to the attachment, so you can e.g. offset a sketch from its attachment plane.

Thank you for explaining. I just expected the sketch to snap back to it's original position after changing the z value with map mode active. I'll have to dive deeper into this.
