Advise on part design

I find it a bit hard to visualize how this exact part could be designed.

What bothers me is basically how the top part exactly connects to the bottom cylinder.

I thought about using loft but I am not sure how exactly to go about this, for best results.

Would appreciate some directions.

I would use a revolve.

One has to think in 3D when using 3D cad :lol:

To be honest, I was trying to think of the connecting part as part of the sketch, something like what papyblaise did.

But I liked your fillet addition approach too.

The fillet is just a dress-up, the revolve and pad intersect, that is how they are joined.
