What is a proper way to chamfer/fillet a three way corner?

Post by CheesySweep »

I am trying to make a simple 4 way dowel rod fitting to 3D print. Below is the picture of my current progress.
What is the proper way to get rid of the sharp corners in the part? I can easily fillet/chamfer the edges surrounding the hole, but not the edges where 3 of them meet. Do I need to create additional geometry somehow?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I'm afraid you indeed will have to build those fillets manually as pads or pockets. FreeCAD extends fillets to tangent edges which doesn't work here.
To speed things up, think about using polar patterns.

not the nicest model (rods need to be a bit longer), but fillets works out of the box
this one is in part wb :-) (as counterweight to other examples)
