What first came to my mind is make the slots go out of the part at the bottom and use pad and pocket to close the model again.
To follow the radius; Yes, from the bottom, sketch the angled profile, offset the sketch and pocket down. There is some symmetry, one sketch per two slots.
There are also macros that allow you to wrap a sketch around a face.

You can make an array of angled lines in Sketcher with the polygon to-the Nth and use it for reference or erase a portion of it and use its lines as sketch elements. Draw a line and set a perpendicular constraint to one of the segments and you don't have to do math. :)

First sorry guys I was not talking about the slots for the fluid to flow through but the wall those cuts are cut into

When I had the top part revolved and the vertical slot cut out
I drew a sketch below following the outer profile and hand drew the offset surface this then I padded upwards onto the cap

And there it went through the cap and even cored the center out

I will make an image so u can see

Btw the design ja nearly finished
The current file link maps to an updated version

Hope you don't mind, I packaged things just a bit. Put all the filter unit Bodies in a Part so I could move everything together. Good model!

Nice, I'm going to have a look at your FC file. Are you going to publish it somewhere else too? Could be something for the Showcase forum. Or are you going to finish the technical drawing using TechDraw first? :D

GrabCAD could be a good solution ?

And yes feel free to use it.

For me this was a demo to learn freecad

Only thing left is the spiral wire that goes through the holes along the rim at the bottom plate
