Is it possible to make a cut of a body with a compound

Post by mwlandolsi »

Hello every body,
I am trying to make a cut of a body with a compound of a cylinder and a cube. but I got a bud result.
The shap became black. If I change the position of the cylinder or the cube (z< or> 0) the colour is a gain grey (default colour). but the intersection of the cube and cylinder, together, with the body remains in place. there is no cutting !

You might need to make a union of the compound if the objects within the compound intersect one another because self-intersections will usually cause subsequent boolean operations to fail. Alternatively, make a union instead of a compound in the first place.

Thanks for your support. I did not Know that creating a compound is not for intersection shapes.
Ok
but I did not find this in Preferences

Try 'RunBopCheck'.......

Actually the wiki is a little out of date here since 'RunBopCheck' can be enabled from the Part checkgeometry menu item, it's a check box in the dialogue.

Where did you find this in the wiki? The documentation of Check geometry is correct.
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.
