There is no proper tutorial available yet, but have a look at the wiki page (example at the bottom of the page).

you must imagine that you are driving the forme entirely into the sheet
So you select the face of the sheet, then the face of the forme that will be tangent to it

NB: if you modify the forme, the modification will be instantaneous (I add external conical face and smoll face on the midle) at forming1

if you make a box with an emboss, you will not be able to unfold it, you have to remove this emboss, make it a common one and add it to the unfolded sheet

drmacro wrote: Sat Sep 25, 2021 6:46 pm Am I doing it wrong, is this just beyond the tool, or is it the fact I'm using 0.20?
The tool works great with 0.20.
It seems like you have no active body.

The body containing the base plate (the face to be embossed) must be the active body. If it is not then double click on its representation in the tree view. It will be highlighted to show that it is active.
I think it is your Body002 that needs to be activated.

Select the planar face to receive the forming geometry.
Select the planar backside of your forming object.
Activate the Make Forming in Wall command

Have a look at the wiki page. I have tried my best to describe how to use this tool and put an example on the bottom of the page.

With an active body it just fails. There is something else at play here.

Please don't instruct me to RTFM...if you look, you'll notice I wrote the original wiki for SM.

I will be attempting to update the forming page later today. The descriptions of the tool operations are limited in detail. As is the tutorial you reference.

I wouldn't instruct you in that direction.

Hope you can live with my improvements. Let's give the pages some love together.

I'd like to shorten some of the older descriptions and rearrange bit more...

And I know my examples are not top notch, but they are better than nothing, I think. And when proper tutorials are available they should be removed.
