My apologies, how do I get help here? My problem is trivial but at this point without a manual, documentation or reference I cannot go further. Please let me know hw I can improve my questions. Thanks you all!

The 'Skecth on face' stay grey on my system as well.
In [Part Design] I select the face and then select 'Create Sketch'. If you open the [Tasks] tab of the combo View it will show 'Face Tools'

The Sheetmetal Workbench is still a bit rough around the edges. (I came from Solidworks and Fusion)

One of the biggest tips, Save at regular intervals EITH NEW FILE NAME and test if you can flatten after each complex new feature.
MAHE SURE NO FLANGE EDGES TOUCH or you will get the dreaded 'Can not Flaten - Try other face' message.

The attached Bashplate was probably designed 10 times before I got it all done. :o
Also remember the Flat part and sketch is 'detaced' from the model. Any change is local to them only.

It also took me more than 6 tries to get the DXF to import in Sheetcam. All sorts of buggy lined during Flattening.
Look at the little section of the Flat part and the Skecth during editing.

rather than cut at an angle, you can cut in the face, and at an angle if you want

Is it standard practice to perform bends like this (like an internal piece of an edge):
If yes, what is the general recommended clearance required (shown as the red dimension below):

(I would ask the people who are going cut and bend it, but theres public holidays now in my country).

well do not disturb people on their vacation :lol: , but it is also the time when they can devote themselves to a hobby like freecad :!:
you make the window that you agree to and you play with Gap1, Gap2, Extend 1, Extend2, Reliefd, and Reliefw to get the values you want
in my example, even if Sheetmetal is not blocked in the unfold, the part does not unfold in real life

:D :D Thanks for the reply. In my picture I modelled it in FreeCAD by adding offset1 and offset2, then I extended the edges that got cut away.

But my question is a bit off topic, cause it more about, is it generally possible for laser cutting/CNC bending fab shops to be able to make this sort of thing, or is it a design I should stay away from?
