Thanks everyone for having a look at my stupid problem, and trying to assist. It's refreshing to see a forum that is healthy.
Chris your screenshot illustrates the problem. When I started the wireframe it was aligned to the grid intersections (all my corners where snapped to the intersections ).
After the reload, the alignment was lost and I don't understand why.
Perhaps there is a way to reposition the wireframe to be back in alignment with the grid, I just don't know how to proceed.??
Also is there some "anchor" to apply that would lock the wireframe and grid together to keep the alignment?
TIA for any help
reloaded wireframe no aligned to snap grid as saved?

I suggest using a self-made grid of points. that doesn't slip, and it works better if there's something behind it.

I have realigned the wires. They stay like this together with the grid after reload. I don't understand enough from the grid to tell you how your misalignment could occur. Is there some expert to weigh in?

Basically the grid can be moved, I suspect it is related, but I'm not a grid expert either

Re: reloaded wireframe no aligned to snap grid as saved?
Select everything (I do this in the tree view) and use the Draft move tool.
If you have grid snap and line snap enabled this is very simple.
Re: reloaded wireframe no aligned to snap grid as saved?
If you select the "Center plane on view" option in the Draft_SelectPlane command, the origin of the grid is calculated from the current view and therefore will be more or less random. If you then press the "Top (XY)" button there is f.e. no guarantee that the origin will be at Z=0. This may explain what the OP is seeing.

Using the WP dialogue it's even easier:-

Yes, I have just added a remark to that effect on the Draft_Preferences page.

Thank you very much to everyone who posted.
I was able to use the somewhat brute-force "select all and move" to get the wire frame snapped back to the grid. A quick save and reload showed that it is indeed back to normal for me. I did have to zoom way in to get the alignment just right, as the snap did not find the grid intersection right away.
I can now proceed with the real work at hand.
