Hollowed out Text

Post by obenyaala »

Hi,

I am new to FreeCad and trying to learn by doing. What I am trying to achieve is using the thickness tool on extruded text but it is not working. The step I did are as follows:
  • I used the shape tool in draft to create my text
Then used extrude to give it height
I tried adding my shape to body but even that it did not work
Is there a better way to remove the front face of the 3d text and make hollow ?
Thanks for the help and the support

Very bad idea. 3D modeling is inherently complex, and that way if you succeed after all you are acquiring bad habits. Work through drmacro's intros (in his footer), the PartDesign Tutorials. Watching isn't enough.

Thickness is most often failing if B-splines are involved. This comes directly from the third party geometric kernel, nearly nothing can be done about it.

BTW: the images are not visible, you probably linked a page containing an image.
