Rotate a line about an axis to create a surface?

Post by Razmatazz#8594 »

I've got a sketch containing a single, simple b-spline (two endpoints; one control point) that I've placed on the XZ plane of my sketch. I'd like to rotate this line about the Z axis in order to create a surface. Suggestions? Is this possible without additional workbenches? I've loaded the latest version of the Surfaces workbench, but haven't had any luck with this, either. Perhaps the Sheet Metal workbench has some tools I should look at?

I'm trying to create a surface because eventually I want to deconstruct my 3D surface to 2D. I'm attempting to draft a pattern in a piece of fabric, but some of the geometry is tricky to specify in 2D, hence my attempt to try it out in 3D first.

Try the revolve tool in Part workbench.
