Hello, I have a question on something I think should be straightforward. I'm new to FreeCAD (used autocad a bit in the past), I've searched forums, and watched videos. I'm using version 0.19. My questions is this: how can I get "part dimensions" to equal "actual measurements"?
I make a new tube, and set it at 10mm tall and 20mm wide. But when I go to measure it, I see 10mm tall and 40mm wide. See attached picture. How can I set my settings so that the "radius properties" are the same as the measurements? Thanks in advance.

Certainly you know the difference between radius and diameter.
The radius is set at 20 mm so the diameter is 40 mm.
Is there some other question?

The measuring tool you used is not precise when it comes to being able to click on a vertex or edge. There is one in Part workbench that has a tape measure icon. Try that one. If you want a reference vertex where none exists one trick I sometimes use is to attach a Part::Vertex object to the edge and set the MapPathParameter to 0.5 to position it in the middle of the edge. These can be created in the creative primitives dialog in Part workbench.

You might also consider looking at the TechDraw workbench, if what you're trying to do is create a dimensioned drawing.
