Exporting DXF File

Post by devils4ever »

Hi all,

I'm trying to export my design to a DXF format for laser cutting. When I export it and reopen it in FreeCAD, it looks messed up and scrambled.

I've attached the FreeCAD file.

Thanks.

Works flawless here.

Code: Select all

OS: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) (X-Cinnamon/lightdm-xsession)
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.20.26155 (Git)
Build type: Debug
Branch: master
Hash: 0926a4148bcff11249fd4f56bc30256102ffe105
Python version: 3.9.2
Qt version: 5.15.2
Coin version: 4.0.0
OCC version: 7.6.0.beta
Locale: English/United States (en_US)
I would check

- the workflow
DraftWorkbench --> select the to export face --> Shape2Dview --> Export; Note: the shapes result is in the XY plane per default

- the settings on Edit --> Preferences --> Import-Export --> DXF

Greetings

I'm not sure I know what you mean.

Could you provide more details?

OK. Thanks! Now I got it.

I couldn't figure out the Shape2DView step correctly.

Thanks again!
