Problem With Path Job Setup - Use Existing Solid

Post by SolidlyMediocreModel »

Hi, I am new to FreeCAD and I am having issues with path menu job setup. I am using FreeCAD 0.19 on windows 10. I have a part that I want to mill out using a CNC router that I have designed. I then created the solid that represents the stock that I am going to be cutting from as a separate body next to the original design. I use the path tool to create a job and in the stock section I choose the Use Existing Solid option. From the dropdown box I choose the body that is the stock which I am working with. I move the stock over until it overlaps correctly with the model. But after this when I try to create a profile or pocket, it doesn't seem to work. When I reopen the Job Edit Setup tab the bounds of the existing solid have moved back to the edges of my stock body. How can I get this to work? I've tried playing with adding base geometries, but the best I can do with that is make the program act like it is a 'Extend Model's Bounds' type of stock.
