Curves Workbench : Interpolation

Post by seanx »

Please considered the attached file.

I have clicked on this button , saying "interpolate a 2D shape between two 2D curves.
Image

I supplied the shape 1 and shape 2. Adding Sketch007 as hullcurve destroys everything :

And after that, if i remove the hull curve in the data tree, the failure does not go away.

I would like to :

1. Make the interpolation follow a path. That is, all the interpolated curves should be along sketch007.
2. The lines should be closed.
3. Individually select the 5th interpolated line (see highlighted), clone it, and increase it's size.

Image

4. Then remove / hide the original 5th interpolated line
5. Draw a skin through all of these.

How can I do it. I understand it is pretty complex checklist, and I am asking for a lot. But any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Also, How do I make this arm solid?

Selecting make solid shows error :

... you forced me finally to use this WB after installing a new Version FC19.2 in my also "new" PC.

Problem, you have too much frames in your pipe shape.

With a lower Frame Count, the pipe wont properly fill up the hull curves. So i am in a catch there.

Do you mean you need 20,000? What does that accomplish? :?:

... is that an arm of a 7 branch candle stick => Menorah ?
I tried frames number from (your) 60 downward til 20, when it first showed a shape.
Maybe there is another unknown parameter.
But I think the limit is caused by practise of airfoil design.
Try a half-profile.

Is a test model of a biomimic arm.

I can't say more for now

I think freecad needs a biomimicry and a generative design workbench.
alas I am not that good in python. I can generate the shapes, but I dont knw how to interact with freecad
