Sorry in advance, I'm new to 3D modeling so I'm sure I did the whole project "incorrectly" (Probably should have used a sketch and worked from there, instead of using additive and subtractive shapes).
I'm trying to make a espresso funnel to fit my grinder and need some help finishing it off.
I'm trying to more or less remove the highlighted faces from the body but not too sure how to do that. Ideally the top view should be a circular outer edge with a cutout (cylinder003).
I was thinking I could sketch the protruding bottom face and top face and loft it between sketches, but I could not find a way to convert an existing face into a sketched object (maybe it just has to be done manually?)
Would love to hear if anyone has thoughts on either how they would have tackled this project or if there is a solution to my attempt.
Thanks in advance

Re: Help with cutting/removing faces
Hi and welcome to the forum!
I would do a groove around the outer side of the funnel.
With your way of modeling you may be better off using the Part workbench; have a look at it!

Absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much for the help. Will have to keep this tool in my tool belt.
Ill give the Part workbench a shot. I remember starting there, but somehow getting pushed into the part design.

With Parametric Defeaturing macro:
(The error icons shown in the screenshot, unrelated to the macro, fixed themselves by recomputing.)

Re: Help with cutting/removing faces
Here is a proposal how to build this in a let me call it classical way, using sketch based features. I would have done also a sketch based pocket instead of the subtractive cube.

No PartDesign_CompPrimitiveAdditive, only from sketches.

Oh wow, thanks Shalmeneser, chrisb, TheMarkster for the other solutions. Taking a look at each of them now. Appreciate the sketch-first solution, will have to dig into this one to understand how you did it.
