Is there a good explanation of the ‘Part Section’ tool somewhere? At the moment, I’m confused about:
What exactly is a ‘section’?
When, why and how would I want to use one?
Do I get the same section from two objects if I select them in the opposite order?
A good practical example would be useful. Thank you.

Did you read the wiki Part Section?

Re: Part Section tool
Of course. But it focuses on how to create a section, rather than why.
Thank you for these examples. I wasn’t sure what you would do with a non-planar section, e.g. the example in the wiki (a cylinder intersecting a cube).
My guess would be yes.
