Hi all.
I am in need of help please.
Can anyone give me any idea why my springs are suddenly becoming distorted?
In the attached image including todays version are a couple from earlier months which on the day were fine but now when opening them they are misshaped.
I would greatly appreciate some guidance please.
Thanks

Go to the Properties view, select the View tab, and adjust the Angular Deflection and/or Deviation.

Thanks for your input drmarco, I have tried your suggestion changing values on both Angular deflection and Deviation both up and down.
Even redrawing on a new sheet and restarting FC after each alteration, image remains distorted.
This occurs in Part using sweep and in PartDesign using AdditivePipe.
No problems in sweeping bends for pipes etc.
Any further suggestions?

This is a graphics artifact, a new sheet or restarting FreeCAD is unlikely to have any effect.

Did you try Additive helix? Can you post your file?

This has been discussed several times. There is a property to adjust but I can't remember its name right now. You can search in the forum. ;)

Hi guys many thanks for your input.
Attached 2 files.
Spring 1 is how I have always constructed springs since V0.16 with Sweep in PartWB.

Spring 2 I tried this morning using the helix sweep in PartDesignWB and has been successful, Is it no longer possible to sweep around a helix in the old way?

I can only assume that the V0.19 version I am using is different in at least this respect.

Where do I find the 'Segment length' adjustment kindly suggested by chrisB.

Thanks for your help people.
I have some further questions to post in the days to come.

Segment length is a Data Property of the Helix object.

Both seem ok here... :?

It is in the properties of the helix, perhaps available only in 0.20.

It is indeed not available in 0.19. You hava to upgrade to 0.20.
