Appimage Update Problem

Post by Laurie Hartley »

I have been successfully updating the weekly Appimage for some time now. Today I hit a snag. See image.
Any ideas if it is my end or the FreeCAD server?

Apologies - this issue has reared its head previously and is being discussed on another thread.

Rather than going the "check for updates" route in edit>preferences I downloaded the latest complete image.
I ran the new image and it opened no problem but when I tried to check for updates I got a message saying "the appimage doesn't exist".
I took a chance and placed it in the FreeCAD folder that I had previously created together with the "squash root" folder when the update issue first arose.
I ran the "appimagetool" and reopened the new appimage > checked for updates and got a message that I had the current version. Don't know if I have fluked this so I will check for updates next Monday and post the outcome.

For some weeks, checking for updates was slowing at the end of download and blocking at the end of it.
Recently it was reworking, but now it's broken again.

Linux Mint.

I last tried the appimage upgrade on the edit menu on 21/11/2021 and failed with that
same error message.

I have since downloaded the development appimage for Linux 26375 with no problem.

I will try the edit preferences again in 2022.

Something has broken and I am in no position to help out in finding the problem.

Regards

I have just downloaded and installed the appimage update successfully. I am not sure if
a) someone has"fixed" the problem or
b) or if I did by running the appimage tool.

Either way all is working well now - see image

I have been getting the same issue, it isn't just happening with the 0.20 builds, it also happens with 0.19 and Realthunder's Link branch.
