How to create circular arrays

Post by StephenDrown »

Hello!

I am attempting to create 2 copies. each 120 degrees apart, of a feature on a part I am trying to make. Most CAD programs I have used in the past refer to this as a circular array or polar array, and, looking at the wiki, this also seems to be the case in FreeCAD. However, I am unable to actually find any of these functions in my version of FreeCAD (0.19). I have attempted to find these functions while in Part mode(?), Part Design mode, and sketcher mode. In part design mode, there is a "Create Polar Pattern Feature" function, but it appears that the shapes I'm using (extruded sketches) can't have this function performed on them.

The Wiki article about circular arrays describes a way to find the feature:

Select the Modification → Array tools → Draft CircularArray.svg Circular array option from the menu.

However, I don't see a "Modification" anywhere in my GUI.

Attached are images of my GUI to show that I'm not crazy (or to be damning evidence to the contrary), let me know if I'm missing helpful info. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When using Part workbench use the polar array from Draft workbench.

Thank you for responding!
I don't see a "Polar Array" option on the toolbar up top or under the "Part" dropdown. Could you direct me to where I might find this feature?

I also think there should be some convenience links in Part workbench for the array tools, the clone tool, and for creating a new sketch.
