mouse focus is not at mouse position

Post by Gruni55 »

Hello,

I am new here, so maybe this question was already answered. I have installed FreeCAD 0.19 on Windows 10 and experienced a shift between the mouse position and the mouse focus. Is there any possiblity to overcome this problem?

best regards

Dear Shalmeneser

thanks for your advice. I try to explain my problem my problem a little more in detail.
When I use the mouse in FreeCAD and I try to draw or place something (also when I try pick up a menu item), the active position is not where the tip of the mouse pointer is. There is allways a shift between the mouse pointer and the real position. I hope you got my problem now.

Best regards

Open the Help --> About FreeCAD menu then click on the "Copy to clipboard" button, and paste its content in the text input area. This will provide us valuable information on your exact version and revision number, your operating system as well as FreeCAD's internal libraries. (Mac users: the About FreeCAD menu is under the FreeCAD menu.)
Please do not attach a screen capture instead of posting the Help > About FreeCAD information from the clipboard.
Your problem depends highly on your OS and your version.
This problem occur only in FC ?

You could try version 0.20 : https://www.freecadweb.org/downloads.php > FreeCAD weekly builds page.

Unfortunately help can only be offered when the details of your question are understood.

There is a big pink banner on the forum above the posting window. It says:

"IMPORTANT: Please click here and read this first, before asking for help"

It is a link to recommendations on how to help the helpers to help you. In that link it explains how to get all the information about your particular FreeCAD installation. It discusses how to click the Help menu in FreeCAD, select About, and click the button that says "Copy to clipboard", then paste the clipboard to your post.

With that information helpers can determine if what you are asking is a known issue with the version of FreeCADyou installed, or with the OS on your machine, etc.

"my mouse pointer is wonky" gives us little likelihood of providing any recommendations worth offering.

There are simply far too many variables to consider.
