Longitudinal slits

Post by Milos »

I am trying to create rotational body with two longitudinal slits that are perpendicular to the rotational axes. I created "helper" pad that I intended to substract from rotational body as depicted on the picture. When I tried to select both objects (pad and rotational body), I obtain the error message on wrong selection.
Any idea?

TIA
Miloš

In Part design use the mirror function in X-Z plane

* DatumPlane : useless, can do directly the same in the sketch attachment
* DatumPlane : support on a face = Topological_naming_problem

* Cut : PartDesign workbench is not Part workbench : pocket directly

You could do this as you describe, but that's not the feature driven PartDesign way, but rather the CSG approach from Part. In PartDesign you create a pocket - which creates the same result as the pad, which then is subtracted.
