Re: Problems with Pad when constructing girder bridge deck
I don't know what you are talking about.
Once upon a time, I've done a DatumLine for a PolarPattern around it.
In fact a MultiTransform (linear, then polar×4)

Re: Problems with Pad when constructing girder bridge deck
You referred to a DatumLine and I looked at it and it referred to sketch 5 Wall Panel Frame, Sketch below The extra line is below the X axis. This is line 10 which is an external Line.Shalmeneser wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 10:58 pm I don't know what you are talking about.

The DatumLine function refers to this sketch and 'Object's X' in the attachment mode.
That is what I was talking about.
I wish I had not bothered you with this.
I do not know how this line appeared, whether it was there before or not. But, thinking about it The DatumLine was literally the x- axis and nothing else. It obviously in unnecessary so I shall delete it.
My apologies for troubling you.
BTW I am currently preparing the padding for the fixings in Sketch007, and then shall create a datum line for this sketch.
Kind Regards
Peter

Please be explicitly explicit when talking about some DatumLine in some file : which file, which ...
Be sure to work on an untouched file because TNP can move things.
Look at the Line attachment to try to understand how and why.

Thank you Sharmer, for your reply.Shalmeneser wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 5:58 am Please be explicitly explicit when talking about some DatumLine in some file : which file, which ...

I am out for the day to my daughter's house (My granddaughter's 5th Birthday ). I shall return to this later this evening but I have completed the Linear Pattern and started on the the PolarPattern.
Kind Regards

Re: Problems with Pad when constructing girder bridge deck
I am having trouble with the PolarPattern. I have the DatumLine correctly positioned but it is NOT bright green suggesting it is not completely defined.
With so many files around I thought it best to firstly declare the files in use.
My Reference file My Working File --------------------------------------------
The sketches of interest are Sketch005 (Wall Panel Frame) and Sketch007
Sketch005 The only difference here is the External Geometry ref in the the Reference File. I checked this and it was the unwanted External connection I reported before in my sketch which I have deleted. I checked the order of the Line Numbers to create the 2 sketches and they matched.
Sketch007 Sketchoo7 Working file added to next post. My apologies. Could not upload the replacement here.
Again, the only difference is with the External Edges. My file has one extra edge (Mirrored) but also, the other two edges are differently numbered. I have not attempted to edit these yet.
Datum Lines
The Reference File has only the one DatumLine whereas the working file has 2. I think one of these 2 is not required but I have not yet deleted it (DatumLine) I shall compare DatumLine in the reference file with DatumLine001 PolarPattern in the working file.
I am unable to load more files so shall continue in the next post

Re: Problems with Pad when constructing girder bridge deck
Sketch007 Working File missing on above post
DatumLines Continued
All Setting compare with each other however there is a difference on Sketch007 which could be causing the DatumLine from being bright green.

Re: Problems with Pad when constructing girder bridge deck
DatumLines don't belong to sketches. They are not shown green (except when selected).
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.
Re: Problems with Pad when constructing girder bridge deck
Thankyou Chris for your reply. What I meant was that, The line should be bright Green when the DatumLine001 is selected. When not, it remains visible and yellow on both files.
I used the replies as an aid to identify the differences between the two files which could cause me issues. I had to leave this as it is to get some rest after a very long day and I needed a record of my progress. I am now about to recheck Sketch007 in the working file.
Kind Regards
Peter
Re: Problems with Pad when constructing girder bridge deck
I have checked and compared Sketch007.
The reason for 3 External faces in the working file, as compared to 2 in the Reference file is that I could not get the Outer frame face to give a full dimension and had to use the bottom of the wall end to to complete it. This I reported earlier.
Comparing the rest of the elements:-
Construction - The reference file has 1 Point, and the working file has 2 Points. The extra point is symmetric between the ends of the Frame Construction lines. It is used to mark the 0.5mm dia. padding in this position to represent the wall fixing.
Normal - Both files have the same element, a 0.5 mm circle.
Other Elements in sketch - Both files have a Reference Dimension (21.5 mm)
The remaining query is within the edge numbers
I am having a break for now.
Kind Regards
Peter

Re: Problems with Pad when constructing girder bridge deck
Back online.
Model View - Datum Line Selected
Reference File
The Datum Line is bright green (was yellow before selection).
The position of the LinearPattern Padding of the fixtures is correct,
The position of the PolarPattern Padding is on the panel Face and not in the frame.
MultiTransform has failed.
Model View - Working File
Datum Line line is dark green (was yellow before selection).
The position of the LinearPattern Padding of the fixtures is correct,
The position of the PolarPattern Padding is not present.
General
I have yet to add MultiTransform to the working file but shall do this when the issue with PolarPattern is resolved.
Whilst carrying out all the checks in the posts above, I ensured that there no deliberate changes made to the Reference file. I shall save this file with a modification to the name and re-load the original Reference file to check the status of the file against the comments above regarding the Reference file.
