Thanks for your reply. So if I change the Arch height to NOT cross the horizontal line under the bridge deck, all should be well. I shall try that.
Kind Regards

Thanks again for your reply.
I have been doing that over the break and have some questions but I shall be replying more fully after I have corrected the Jack Arch Sketch.

I have re-drawn the arches to stay clear of the underside of the deck
This is again a fully constrained sketch.

I have toggled the view change in Sketcher to examine the lines but could not see any connection problems. See the top picture.

The tree looks to be OK

Problem fixed. The cause was several overlapping lines on top of each other obviously caused when I edited the sketch previously

I am now getting more confident and would like to thank all that have helped me on this topic. Greatly appreciated.

Good morning
We cross posted earlier on. I had already solved the problem with the sketch after 3 hours work but thanks for your reply.
Getting back to your comment above regarding your file and the fitting of the bolts to the panel. I spent quite a few hours studying your method Because of my very limited experience with 3D (Let alone FreeCAD, I was puzzled how you intersected the X axis with the Z axis, central to the panel. I could not see any offset to the X axis, but proably missed it. Could you please advise me?
Kind Regards

I have tried to use GirderRev_1_SHALM but find the model tree layout very confusing, I cannot see a logical flow but please remember that I am brand new to FreeCAD,
When I try to open a sketch, the multi-Transform fails every time and I am helpless in putting things right.

I have to work within the bed size of my 3D printer. I did not inform you about the maximum dimensions but they are X and Y bed 235 mm square and Z 240 mm. This would mean that I could only have 9 panel segments in length.

I would very much like to continue building models in the style I am currently using. Yes, sometimes the model breaks but I would rather have a chance in understanding why and to put it right. In this way, I shall learn the ropes quite quickly and build on that experience to refine things as I build up my knowledge.

I have used you Rev 0 file over the xmas period. I can follow this better and my question that I put, 'how have you moved the Z axis / y axis crossing point to the centre of the panel?' was related to that file.

Thanks again
Kind Regards
Peter

This had its own problems but at least I could open sketches and work on them.
