I'm just getting started with FreeCAD, tutorials, etc. I'm trying to model out a Kamado grill table. I've created an external part (table pillar) and have imported it 8 times to form the base of my table. This works great for the front pillar, but when I try to rotate the angle of the pillars 180 degrees for the rear, it seems to also shift X/Y coordinates. I'm sure I'm overlooking something silly, but could use a professional eye. Below is my version info, screenshots and project files. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Is this a question to one of the Assembly workbenches?

Perhaps... Does changing the angle of a part work differently when in an assembly than when not?
Re: N00b: How to flip part horizontally
I'm not really familiar with the Assembly workbenches. You rotate an object directly by changing its Placement. A very powerful concept for placing objects relative to each other is that of Attachment. See the Basic Attachment Tutorial.

Re: N00b: How to flip part horizontally
How do you try to do that? I was expecting a geometry shifted from the shape origin but it is not the case. The coordinate system is nicely centered at one of the pillar angles. And when transforming it properly rotates around that angle. Did you expected it to rotate around the center of mass or something of the geometry?UncleLeoTheDad wrote: ↑Sun Jan 16, 2022 5:29 pm but when I try to rotate the angle of the pillars 180 degrees
