error exporting as SVG

Post by dlclark66 »

New to the forum but a pretty long time user of Freecad. I'm trying to export a drawing as SVG but get the error "Can't determine mesh format from file name: '/home/dan/test.svg'" I've tried just creating a very simple drawing with a circle and a square, selecting export and selecting flattened SVG and that brings the error message up. Am I missing something? I tried adjusting the export settings for SVG in preferences but still get the same result.

Version information is
OS: KDE Flatpak runtime (pop:GNOME/pop)
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.19.14555 (Git shallow)

Qt version: 5.15.3
Coin version: 4.0.0
OCC version: 7.3.0

Hi and finally welcome to the forum!

Your version is rather old, and the message sounds as if some STL is exported :? .
Please retry with a current 0.19 or even 0.20, because that's where such an error should be verified anyway.

Chris it's not an old version, ignore the Git and look at Branch, it's 0.19.3.

1) select format
2) type name with format extension
