The issue is being worked on, it's obviously not an easy fix hence you'll have to be patient, there is a dedicated Packaging sub forum, here is the relevant topic https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=65259

I'm using this one and it works very well:

OS: Windows 10 Version 2009
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.20.27129 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: master
Hash: fcaa698be874323ae26b20d7adf92214989c2d38
Python version: 3.8.6+
Qt version: 5.15.2
Coin version: 4.0.1
OCC version: 7.5.3
Locale: English/United States (en_US)

https://github.com/donovaly/FreeCADInst ... 0.20r27129

It's an exe file, but 7-zip will extract it the same way as for .7z files.

To be careful, installing a .exe can be very harmful to the security of your system. I would never, ever, never do this......

Extracting the exe should be the same as extracting the 7z file should it not?

You do realise that the GitHub account belongs to the community packager who creates the stable installer currently being 0.19.3, in other words a trusted source?

I changed the ".exe" to ".7z" and used the file like every other 7z file I download from GitHub. Throw away the $PLUGINSDIR folder.

I'm always hoping that security becomes more important than whatever is being worked on, the trusted source could be hacked...I know of two private companies in my town that have been held for ransom, both paid just to get their company computers back, over $100K each. This kind of ransom does not end up on the news, it happens in the background and a payment of $100K is a small amount when you do $1 million a month.

It's certainly my fault for not researching what a 7z file looks like and if it can be scanned in some way.
