Post by thomas-neemann »

I can't set a constraint when building inclined railroad tracks in a curve. Am I exceeding a limit in Sketcher?

You are not showing the whole picture of your file (and the reason for your problem) ...

get rid of the vertical constraint and you will stop confusing FreeCAD ;)

50m & 0.2m -> R=6250m
6250 / 0.2 = 31250

The radius will be around 31250 times the small dimension.
Do you really need a circle ? a line is not enough ?

(the circle is the straigth upper line.)

actually in rail engineering it's neither straight line nor the circle, search:
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=rail+transiti ... 7-1&ia=web
and yes... it matters (even in railway scale models)

In Thomas's case if he insist on circle it is easily done, as I have shown.

Don't understand, the vertical constraint is needed.
