(WORKAROUND) Sketcher limit?
I can't set a constraint when building inclined railroad tracks in a curve. Am I exceeding a limit in Sketcher?
these dimensions
should be 213mm
when i try i get this result
OS: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS (XFCE/xubuntu)
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.20.28873 (Git) AppImage
Build type: Release
Branch: (HEAD detached at 4366c2f)
Hash: 4366c2faecae2c5326c12bbe8cbd230ec817eb0c
Python 3.9.12, Qt 5.12.9, Coin 4.0.0, OCC 7.5.3

Re: Sketcher limit?
You are not showing the whole picture of your file (and the reason for your problem) ...
get rid of the vertical constraint and you will stop confusing FreeCAD

Re: Sketcher limit?
50m & 0.2m -> R=6250m
6250 / 0.2 = 31250
The radius will be around 31250 times the small dimension.
Do you really need a circle ? a line is not enough ?
(the circle is the straigth upper line.)

Re: Sketcher limit?
thanks for the tip, will test it and measure the difference in track lengthShalmeneser wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 10:00 am ..

Re: Sketcher limit?
actually in rail engineering it's neither straight line nor the circle, search:Shalmeneser wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 10:00 am ...Do you really need a circle ? a line is not enough ?
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=rail+transiti ... 7-1&ia=web
and yes... it matters (even in railway scale models)
In Thomas's case if he insist on circle it is easily done, as I have shown.

Re: Sketcher limit?
Don't understand, the vertical constraint is needed.
