how to offset a line

Post by odobo »

Hello,

How to offset a line in sketcher? please see screenshot. I would like to offset the blue construction line, either side by .3125.

Currently, there is no offset tool in the Sketcher. There are some workarounds (such as using SketcherOffset macro or applying Part Offset2D or Draft Offset outside of the sketches) but I don't think they will work for a single line.

- Make a parallel line
- Add a distance constraint from an endpoint of one of the lines to the other.

+1

That's how I see it too, with a line offset makes no sense

To be precise: what I described is an offset and it works e.g. in Draft workbench in exactly that way.
