Lattice2 Array Filter Template

I've been trying to use the Lattice2|Array Filter tools. I get errors if I try to use a sketch or a wire as a template to surround the desired placements. It does work if I make the wire into a face. As that the intended usage? If so, the tooltip could be more explicit about what is required.

Filling in a sketch face automatically would be a user friendly enhancement.
