First: As a new FreeCAD user (and this being my first post in the FreeCAD Forum), I'd like to sincerely thank all of the people who've contributed to developing such a wonderful and useful system. As an experienced software developer myself, I recognize and appreciate the effort that it takes to produce something of this complexity and quality. Kudos!
Now... I am finding some difficulty using the Curves workbench to make a solid out of two bodies.
My system information follows:
OS: Windows 10 Version 2009 (Actually, it's Windows 11 - '2021)
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.19.24291 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: releases/FreeCAD-0-19
Hash: 7b5e18a0759de778b74d3a5c17eba9cb815035ac
Python version: 3.8.6+
Qt version: 5.15.2
Coin version: 4.0.1
OCC version: 7.5.0
Locale: English/United States (en_US)
A screenshot is attached.
The body on the left is a circle. The body on the right is an ellipse. They have specific dimensions and are separated by a specific distance. (The purpose being to utilize the solid resulting from the desired 'blend' operation as a subtractive element in a downstream part design.) The FreeCAD work file is also attached.
I attempted to integrate what I learned from an outstanding YouTube video posted by 'MangoJelly' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCrZnIH5YgA&t=269s) concerning the Blend Solid Tool; but alas, I've determined that this tool may only work with Parts (and not Bodies).
There are probably much easier approaches to producing what I need; but at this point in my early acquaintance with FreeCAD, I lack the understanding of how to achieve it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Trouble making a blended solid (Curves workbench)
Hello and welcome to the forum.
Why not model that in a single body? First one pad, then loft between two sketches, pad the second sketch?

Re: Trouble making a blended solid (Curves workbench)
Lofts are the answer ! (And fairly easy to implement --- even for a newbie.)
Re: Trouble making a blended solid (Curves workbench)
For loft without continuity at support surfaces, you can use Part or PartDesign Loft.
If you want loft with continuity at support faces, you can use Blend Solid Tool.
It is possible to use this tool using bodies if you prepare them properly.
simple examples attached.
