not enough dimensions are given, what radius should the circles have? how are they positioned?thomas-neemann wrote: ↑Mon Sep 19, 2022 12:55 pm tangential transitions, parametric is not important to me. the fastest solution is sought

Re: Challenges?
here are the dimensions, they came up automatically for me
Re: Challenges?
With a Radius of 7 and 19 mm the length is 41,68 mm and not 66 mm, I altered my design and here is the result

Re: Challenges?
that is interesting. here is my file. can you upload your file?
Re: Challenges?
I was wrong. The blue line in the triangle gave a limitation in my design. After deleting this I had the freedom to get your dimensions

the fastest workflow is sought. all non-specified dimensions are freely selectable

Re: Challenges?
here is my suggestion, video follows
Re: Challenges?
Drawing and photo are not consistent. I dare the statement that fixing this in a parametric model is saving a considerable amount of time.

Yes, the photo is for illustrative purposes only. I'm curious about the comparison of the times. the video is almost finished
Re: Challenges?
From your model I derive, that you are not interested in modeling one object per plank, so here is my proposal. I used three sketches for the boxes, where second and third box are carbon copies with only 2 changes.
After having finished a first version, making the model further parametric by adding expressions for the length of the three boxes took just about 10 seconds. Another expression could be used to place the middle box exactly in the middle.
I think you are utterly wrong thinking that nonparametric=fast and that Draft is the fastest of them all. I admit though, that it takes more time to learn, which you cannot or don't want to invest. As you are now teaching FreeCAD, you should seriously reconsider the rather basic approach.
Please note that I attached a sketch to a face, but in this case it is toponaming safe, because the support is a Cube.
Thickness is not TNP safe, but the sketch should be simple enough to not being seriously changed.
