Hello! I am new here and in the 3D design community in general.
I am trying to design a bracket that can be mounted on a socket.
The bracket:
The mount socket:
I created the mount socket by designing the same extruding part from the bracket using constraints from it and using subtractive pipe I removed it from the body.
I would like to make the hole a bit bigger to accommodate the extrusion easier:
How would I go about doing that? I thought of adding a bit of padding manually to the sketch of the hole but I don't think that's a proper way.
If you are kind enough I'd also like to hear some best practices/things to correct in my design.
Thank you a lot: the std file

Re: Make a hole bigger to better fit an object.
Hi,
What I do is to print just a test part of both. Normally I need to adjust by 0.2mm to 0.4mm according to the size of the part. The smaller the fitting parts are the bigger is my correction.
With time you will get more experience and know how it behaves.

make a clone of the bracket part that you multiply by a scale of 1.01 (or more) in width and height, but not in length and do the subtraction with
