Pocket not linked to circle
Hello,
I created a rectangle pad. Added four circles to it. Created pockets for each.
Adjusted the constraint position of three of the pockets.
The original circles moved only. Tried to move the pockets can't get placement to show in view on the left.
I attached the project file.
Please, explain how to correct this. I would like to do it myself to learn.
Thank you.

Re: Pocket not linked to circle
You could do this all with a single pad. The closed curves of the sketch can be nested as long as you will end up with a single object when you pad.
Your Pocket001 has lost the sketch it was trying to pad and with all the operations on top of the broken one, it isn't clear how to fix.
However, you only need a single pad, or a single pad for the rectangle and a single pocket for the four holes, if you'd rather split the operations.

Here it is using your sketches and deleting all the unnecessary stuff.

Re: Pocket not linked to circle
Thank you for the replies.
But how did you do it, I can't repeat it if I don't know what was done.
Just a text list of the steps , please.
Also, I wanted to create a box, walls around the pad. I:
1) Added a sketch on the pad,
2) moved the placement to 1mm below the surface of the pad.
3) Closed the sketch.
4) made sure the sketch was selected.
5) Clicked the pad icon.
6) ERROR, Can not use selected object. Selected object must be part of a active body.
How do I do this correctly? Just a text list of the steps , please.

@bteddy
Starting with your file:
Then when you create the sketch, it should appear in the tree under the body. It shouldn't be necessary to move your sketch below the surface. Co-planar errors can occur, but I've never seen them in this context.
Starting with your file:
- Shift -select all the pockets and delete.
- Select Sketch001
- Click PartDesign|Pocket
- Choose ThroughAll from Type
- Check Reverse
- Click OK

Re: Pocket not linked to circle
Thank you. Made some progress.
I got the 2nd sketch to constrain, don't know how . I was just clicking things.
I also got it to pan and pocket. but the pocket did not go all the way to the face of the original pad. The pocket holes in the corners are covered.
Is there a way to adjust the starting point of the sketch or offset the sketch from 0(flush to z) then start cutting?
thank YHou.

Re: Pocket not linked to circle
Don't understand how you've done such a mess in your first file.
* Sketch outside of its pocket
* 8 pockets for the same (?) sketch ?
For your last file, if you repad the first pad, the 4 holes will dissapear.

Re: Pocket not linked to circle
Thank You for the corrections.
But I still don't know what you did or how you did it.
I am trying to learn to do these things but don't know the process.
Everyone is just sending me the corrected file, but nothing about how to correct it.
On my file the wall sides look sloped on the inside, on Shalm's file they are correct (straight down from XY view).
On my file the walls are solid, on Salm's file they are transparent.
Salm said I had: "Sketch outside of its pocket" What is that? What causes it? How do you correct it?
8 pockets for the same (?) sketch ?

"8 pockets for the same (?) sketch ?" I was trying to create 5 pockets. What were the other three? How did I create them?
How do you git rid of them? How do you properly create them?
Salm generously provided a file with a single body, pad, and sketch. To get what I had I created six sketches, two pads, and five pockets.
How did I end up with two pads, and 8 pockets?
Hints, tips, steps recreate what you did, please.
Would anyone have the ability to video the screen while they recreate the file the correct way?
Thank you for anything you can do.

Std_OrthographicCameraOn my file the wall sides look sloped on the inside
Tutorials : Pad & Pocket are very basic tools : any tutorial or video should explain them.Everyone is just sending me the corrected file, but nothing about how to correct it.
Your completely broken file should be redone from zero.
