There's no reason to do a boolean, this is where the Part container is used and it holds the rim and hooks. All the bodies together make the rim assembly or the rim part. If you want to move the rim (whole) later you move the part container not the bodies.

You can have multiple features in the same mirror.

You can also Goto; Edit->Preferences->Sketcher->Display, uncheck Hide all objects that depend on the Sketch and click Apply to existing sketches. Now when you open the rim sketch you will see the entire model (pic). This can be helpful when trying to place one body relative to another. This option can be set checked or unchecked depending on what your doing.
