Noob asks, what is this: "ValueError: Empty group name"

I'm seeing lots of errors of the form:

21:27:14  ValueError: Empty group name

in report view.

Can someone tell me why this is happening, and how to fix it?

Your error report is telling nothing about it, so it is very hard to help you.

Sorry, let me flesh this out a bit.

Win11 Pro x64, FreeCAD 0.20.1

Here are the actions needed to create the errors:

1) Create a new project
2) Enter Sketcher Workbench
3) Errors appeared:

20:27:22    File "<string>", line 243, in globalShortcuts
20:27:22  ValueError: Empty group name

While I was typing this, they appeared again:

20:28:13    File "<string>", line 243, in globalShortcuts
20:28:13  ValueError: Empty group name

And while copying the above, again:

It seems they appear whenever I click in the Report View!

The errors appear at other times, of course. My Report View is full of them!

FreeCAD version info is not what required, it is so hard to follow the link and post the real version info?

The "full version info" will report many other useful informations that could help to supply a solution.

Message is almost clear there are some shortcut not defined.

Sadly I'm not at my computer, but it reported elsewhere with solution. Searching "shortcut keys error" in the forum search bar probably will give you some hints.

As error report is the same.

Or probably related to some Macro settings you will find in Preferences >> General >> Macro keyboard modifiers shortcut at bottom, sometimes is not defined and raise a similar error, (I have had it some time ago, and I'm using memory to recollect the solution, so don't trust at 100%)

Keyboard modifier is set to Ctrl+Shift+

Could you please provide a link to the thread? I don't understand the text you provided.

The problem was apparently caused by the Shortcuts addon. After disabling it, the error messages no longer appeared.
