version 0.20.1 tutorials
Back to FreeCAD after some time off. I'd like to start with some tutorials that are using the latest version as I had some problems with other tutorials. Specifically, I was trying the Aeroplane tutorial and did well until it came time to change the axis type and rotation. I couldn't find the rotation function so I'm just moving on to another one. Where can I find these?

I doubt that you will find that sort of labeling for most tutorials. The best advice would be to look for very recent tutorials, generally less than a year old.

Thank you Gene. BTW, I found the placement and rotation stuff under the editor tab. Not at all where the tutorial pointed.

I just went to that tutorial and its exactly where the tutorial says it is, what did you not understand?
You have to click in the value column and the button appears.

That is not what they are talking about. If you go to the edit tab and click Placement, you'll see the options for Euler angles.

Did you try what I suggested?DickHutchings wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 4:06 pm That is not what they are talking about. If you go to the edit tab and click Placement, you'll see the options for Euler angles.
Because it works! Unfortunately Screengrabs don't capture the button, but it does appear.

Yes I tried that many times and did not get the dialog like I posted until went to the Edit/Placement tab.

The automatic appearance of the three-dot button depends on the width of the panel. If the panel is wide enough to hold the entire set of parameters then the button does not show up without first clicking in the parameter section. If the panel is too narrow to show everything then the button shows up automatically.
The tutorial shows a panel that is narrow enough to cause the automatic three-dot button.

Re: version 0.20.1 tutorials
I now see where the button appears after I click the Placement value. I just need to get reacquainted with the way these dialogs work again. I clicked on this before but didn't notice the button appearing or if I did notice it, I didn't realize that that button was what I needed to click. Little things like that are what make FreeCAD difficult to learn. I'll get there.
