Crash on open if .stl files in directory and thumbnail view

Post by TheScottishPatient »

A subtle bug (?) discovered today (FreeCAD 20.1.29410, Win 10.0.19045): If you try to open or save/export a file from/to a directory that contains also .stl files AND your windows file dialog is set to icon view (as remembered from a previous dialog) FreeCAD crashes immediately. I suspect this has something to do with how FreeCAD handles the thumbnails and/or their generation for these files (these display correctly in File Explorer). Maybe worth looking into it at some stage. Meanwhile, better stick to the list/details view in the file dialog. Hope this helps.
