Drawing workbench - Quadrant system and projection lines

Hello,
at school we’ve started doing technical drawings on paper using the Quadrant System (front view, side view etc.) so we thought of replicating it with FreeCAD.
We’ve accomplished our goal using the Drawing workbench and perhaps it can be done using the TechDraw workbench too.
The only thing we weren’t able to do was to show the projection lines (for “projection lines” we mean the lines that one manually draws when flipping an object on a different plane).

t would be necessary to use the Sketcher workbench using the construction lines (in blue) as a witness line
with the advantage of being able to place them directly horizontal or vertical

Unless you are using an old version of FreeCAD, you would be better off using TechDraw. Your projection lines would be easily added as cosmetic lines.

my proposal is not good because we no longer see the blue lines after closing the sketch
and use the cosmetic lines of techdraw because it will be necessary to know how to make the sketch
the question is how to make the drawing in 2d with the extension lines, with if possible (I suppose) clearly distinguish these construction lines
my new proposal is to draw the wires and lines in DraftWb and use the weight of the lines to show the drawing in wide black lines and the thin construction lines in color , which is possible as we progress in the drawing, it involves updating the lines as soon as we draw them (like we did with a pencil and a ruler on paper), for me 60 years ago

First we tried to do the task with the SketcherWb using construction lines but as you said, after closing the sketch they aren’t visible and for showing them again we selected the sketch, pressed the “Reorient Sketch” button and chose the orientation of the grid.

We then drew a cone section on PartWb and created two Orthographic Views (in DrawingWb and TechDrawWb).

As for the cosmetic lines, we don’t understand how to create them or make them appear. Is there a specified button to press?

Yes! 60 years have passed but that’s exactly how we do it today!
Even if FreeCAD creates different views automatically without the projection lines, we would like them to be visible, because they are useful for apprehending how it does the orthographic drawing of the solid (learning purpose).
Thank you very much for the file you sent us! We’ll have a look at DraftWb and how to create shapes in it, so that we can understand better what you suggested in your reply.
