[SOLVED] Only part of sketch rotates

Post by fr33cadtom »

See Attached file. I am trying to rotate both parts of the sketch to be a 1/2 sphere and a ring, but only the 1/2 sphere gets generated.
Any ideas?

Thanks
Tom

They are not connected. All parts of a sketch must connect

Two comments:

Sketches can be used for many purposes. There is no general requirement that all parts of a sketch must connect. Yes, in this case the two parts of the sketch must be connected in order to support the revolve operation. But as a general rule that is too restrictive.

Please use a new (modified) name for any FCStd file posted. It can be very confusing if both the old file and the corrected file have the same name.

All,
Thank you for your help. I understand the issue.

I have revised my part to have a block under it and am successfully adding the portions I am interested in on top of the block. After I finish, I will export it for 3d printing. In the "slicer" program, I will removed the block and print the rest.
Thanks again,
Tom
