Hello,
I juste created a house modelisation, with BIM tool from FreeCad.
Now, i want to give the file to the engeneer for charges calculations and validations. But they need dwg or dxf files.
Unfortunatly, i'm not able to export files...
Doesn't matter the method i use, the files are empty. Just 3-4 Ko, and nothing in the screen. My engeneer uses AutoCad.
What am i doing wrong ? Can someone helps me ?
I can for example send the FCStd files, for trying to see what is the problem.
Many thanks for your help.
Best regards.
Christian

If you can, share the files here. Also, paste About FreeCAD info, according to the top red banner.

hallo christian
3d dxf files should work, but it's just a wire frame. it should work to create a step in freecad and convert it to 3d dwg in autodesk 123d (free for personal use).

Hello,
Thanks for your answers.
Here are my "about" section :
I can't share the files, because they are over 1Mo. How can i do ?
I asked the engeneer and the software is really AutoCad. They need .dwg or .dxf.
If someone has this software, i can send him my files to try what's wrong.
Many thanks for your help.
Best regards.

have not looked at the files (and will not), regardless
just checking the obvious, have you
- selected something to include in the export?
- made sure that it is oriented in xy-plane? (if not in techdraw)
and you should start with dxf (at least when exporting from fc)
(any ac person will say dwg, which is the proprietary ac format, dxf is intended as an open exchange format - to/from ac and other applications)
there are plenty of forum posts with people having initial trouble to get things into dxf, so a web-search should give you something to work with...
